You’re So Fly: Ronnie Lassiter
At Flywheel, our members bring more than just business ideas into the space — they bring purpose. This month, we’re proud to spotlight Ronnie Lassiter, a dedicated advocate for youth and families across North Carolina. Ronnie is part of the leadership team at Support Incorporated, a behavioral health organization that has been serving the state for decades. Her work is centered on one mission: making sure families facing complex challenges don’t have to face them alone.
Support Inc. was founded on a commitment to provide services based on individual need, and over time that mission has evolved into a broad, community-driven approach. Today, the organization collaborates with schools, healthcare providers, and local nonprofits to deliver care that goes beyond crisis management. “We know that we are only one part of the solution,” Ronnie explains. “That’s why we focus on strong partnerships, dynamic staff, and customizing services to fit each family’s unique situation.”
The organization offers a wide range of behavioral health resources, from medication management to treatment foster care, ensuring families can access what they need at every stage. Ronnie is especially passionate about shining a light on programs that often fly under the radar but have shown incredible success. High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW), for example, is a family-driven process that builds long-term stability by equipping families with crisis management and advocacy skills. Family Centered Treatment (FCT) provides in-home therapy designed to strengthen communication and prevent children from entering out-of-home placements. And Intensive Alternative Family Treatment (IAFT) offers a highly structured foster care model that helps children with complex needs thrive in family-based environments.
Despite these resources, challenges remain. Ronnie points out that stigma around mental health continues to prevent families from seeking help until a crisis occurs. Underfunding of behavioral health services further limits access, making it difficult for providers to sustain critical programs. “Families are often exhausted by the time they reach us,” Ronnie says. “Our job is to listen, validate, and give them a path forward. Mental health touches everyone, and we want families to know they don’t have to navigate it alone.”
For parents and community members, Ronnie encourages being attentive to warning signs such as sudden changes in mood, withdrawal from activities, or shifts in school performance. She emphasizes the importance of early intervention, whether that means reaching out to a school counselor, a healthcare provider, or contacting agencies like Support Inc. North Carolina residents can also dial 988, the state’s crisis line, to connect with professionals who can help guide families to the right resources.
As a member of Flywheel Concord, Ronnie brings the same energy and commitment she gives to her clients into our community. Her passion for collaboration and impact makes her not only a valuable advocate in her field but also an inspiring part of our coworking family.
