You’re So Fly: Emily Wolf

Given her newfound title of Startup Weekend Superstar, it seemed fitting to feature Flywheel member, Emily Wolf, this month for You’re So Fly. Emily has been with Flywheel since joining the Center for Creative Leadership team last October. As their Programming and Operations Assistant, Emily serves in a hands-on role in supporting the organization’s mission to provide training to inception-stage entrepreneurs. Although a recent graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, she brings along an abundance of knowledge and experience from her academic career.

She spent her time in college working with 4-H, a program that helps youth through experiential educational programs, which was her first venture into leadership and professional development. Combined with her triple major in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, and Marketing, she also has a minor in New Venture Management which has equipped her to explore the world of startups and entrepreneurship.

One thing that is abundantly clear when speaking with Emily is her bravery and tenacity when it comes to her professional goals. Her work during Startup Weekend is a testament to her willingness to take chances and put herself out there when it comes to new opportunities. Although young, she has big hopes for channeling her passions into her work. In addition to her interest in training and development which led her to her position with CCE, she is also an avid baker. She has found creative ways to combine those two interests through teaching cake decorating classes, a venture she would like to continue to explore. In addition, she has channeled her greatest love, her beloved dog, into her most recent venture, Good Dog Games, which earned her 3rd place at Techstars Startup Weekend. “I don’t feel like you should have to compromise on your passions when it comes to your career. I love thinking of new and creative ideas to explore how to combine the two.”

While she is new to the area, she is always looking for opportunities to grow her network and expand her reach in the local professional ecosystem here in Winston-Salem, so feel free to reach out to her and show her what it means to be a part of this wonderful community.
