Reggae Block Party Brings Irie Vibes and Community Energy to the Crescent One Innovation District

On Friday, June 7, the Crescent One Innovation District came alive with rhythm, flavor, and community connection as the South Carolina African American Tourism Council hosted its vibrant Reggae Block Party at Flywheel Coworking. With the sun shining and a breeze in the air, the event brought together families, entrepreneurs, neighbors, and visitors from across Greenville to celebrate culture, creativity, and collaboration.

Flywheel Greenville was proud to serve as the venue of choice for this unforgettable evening. Both the coworking space and the adjacent Pavilion Event Venue offered the perfect blend of energy and flexibility for an event of this scale. As the beats of reggae filled the air and the smell of mouthwatering food drifted through the space, Flywheel once again proved to be more than just a workspace—it’s a true community hub where ideas, people, and cultures converge.

Despite a last-minute burst of wild weather toward the end of the night, the event went off without a hitch. The community rallied, the energy never dipped, and the spirit of togetherness stayed strong throughout. It was a testament to the power of people coming together and the resilience of events rooted in purpose and joy.

The band Mystic Vibrations lit up the evening with their soulful reggae sounds, keeping the crowd moving and grooving. Their presence brought a contagious energy that made everything irie. Food trucks served up delicious local and Caribbean flavors, vendors displayed a variety of cool and creative products, and a dynamic dance troupe wowed the audience with a colorful, high-energy performance.

More than just a great time, the Reggae Block Party reflected the growing momentum behind Greenville’s entrepreneurial and cultural movement. Events like these are vital in building the local innovation ecosystem—sparking new connections, providing platforms for local creators, and bringing visibility to the Crescent One Innovation District as a place where business, art, and community thrive together.

With the overwhelming support from the neighborhood and the warm, welcoming spirit of everyone who attended, it’s clear that this is just the beginning. Flywheel is committed to hosting more events like this—family-friendly, community-driven, and rooted in purpose.

The vibes were right, the music was flowing, and the people showed up. Yes—we’ll absolutely be doing this again.
